Business analyst · Québec

Your quotes, reports, software, processes and data, finally in step with the way you work.

I'm Thais Fontes, a business analyst. I help small and mid-sized businesses in Québec see their processes clearly, get their software talking to each other, and get reports they can trust. Less double entry, fewer spreadsheets that disagree, more time for the real work.

What I do for you

I start from your operations, not from the technology. Tools come later, once we know exactly what they need to fix.

  1. 01

    Business and process analysis

I document how work really flows through your business, from the first call to the invoice. We find the double entry, the bottlenecks and the steps nobody dares to question.

    • Process mapping
    • Requirements analysis
    • Prioritized recommendations
  2. 02

    Systems integration

Your applications should talk to each other. I connect it through APIs, connectors or scheduled data feeds, so information entered once shows up everywhere it needs to be.

    • APIs and webhooks
    • Data flows between applications
    • Secure access for your partners
  3. 03

    Reporting and data

Power BI dashboards built on reliable data, with indicators your teams understand and actually use.

  4. 04

    Custom tools and automation

When no software does exactly what you need, I build it: quoting and pricing systems, small internal apps, automations. AI is part of the toolbox when it solves a real problem, for example reading documents or sorting emails.

    • Internal applications
    • Automating repetitive tasks
  5. 05

    Ongoing support

A monthly bank of hours so you have an analyst within reach: small improvements, support for your teams, follow-up on projects and software vendors.

Not sure where to start?

That's normal. A short assessment helps you see clearly before investing in anything.

My approach

Analyze, optimize, deliver value.

Three steps, always in that order.

  1. 01

    Analyze

I listen to the people doing the work and map the real process, not the one in the manual. The emails, the spreadsheet in three versions, the sticky notes, the same information typed twice: it all goes on the table.

    • Process mapping
    • Requirements
  2. 02

    Optimize

Together we pick what brings value first. One source of information, clear steps, and we remove what wastes time. No need to rebuild everything at once.

    • Priorities
    • One source
  3. 03

    Deliver value

I build in small steps, tested with your teams: integrations, tools, reports. Then I document everything (standard operating procedures, training) so the know-how stays with you.

What I deliver

Real tools your teams actually use.

Clear, documented tools your teams actually adopt, and that stay with you.

  1. 01Freight forwarderMontréal area

A quoting system connected to the freight management software

    The need
One path for every quote, from request to sent, with current rates and data that flows into freight management.
    What I did
I designed the new quotation system (requests in, rates, quote out), connected it to their freight management software, GoFreight, through its API, and built the Power BI reporting for the air department.

  2. 02Freight forwarderMontréal area

A data bridge between the forwarder and its customers' systems

    The need
Some of the forwarder's customers wanted shipment updates delivered straight into their own systems, such as ServiceNow or Snowflake.
    The approach
One central hub, with one connector per customer. Each customer only receives their own data, and the forwarder's master API key is never shared.

Clear ways of working and software that talks

    The need
Bring order to how work gets done and cut double entry between the field and accounting.
    What I did
I mapped the processes, set up task and meeting management, wrote the standard operating procedures (SOPs), and connected the field-service software to the accounting software.

Engagements

Three ways to work together

We pick the format that fits your need, and we can switch along the way.

  • Project

A clear goal, a defined scope

A new quoting system, an integration between two applications, a dashboard. We agree on deliverables and timeline before we start.

    • Written scope and deliverables
    • Delivered in steps
    • Documentation included
  • Monthly bank of hours

    An analyst available every month

A set number of hours reserved each month, used as you need them: ongoing improvements, new reports, support for your teams.

    • Hours reserved for you
    • Clear tracking of hours used
    • Priorities reviewed with you

Pricing depends on scope. Write to me and I will send you a clear proposal.

Thais FontesQuébec

Why me

Hi, I'm Thais.

I learned the trade in international freight forwarding, between quotes, operations and shipment data. I saw up close what it costs when tools don't talk to each other.

That's where I became a business analyst. I do the analysis, and I also build the tools myself: quoting systems, integrations between software, dashboards, small apps. I've also worked with service companies in HVAC and construction.

I explain things simply, I document what I do, and your teams stay independent. I work in French, English and Portuguese, from Québec.
